Today, I got 2 new games: Valkyrie Profile 2 and Wild ARMs 3. When I started to play VP2, I was struggling with the battles in the game, even with the help of the tutorials. My biggest problem was running from the enemy attacks. After a few hours of thinking, I finally realized...I WAS THE ONLY IDIOT WHO FORGOT HOW TO DASH!!!!

Consequently, my forgetfulness caused Dylan to get KOed by the very first boss of the game...⌐⌐

I've been re-fighting the first boss and been getting progressively better (last two fights I won undamaged). Currently in Dipan, with my whole party at Lv 3, and I still can't shake off the fact that I feel like a n00b! Feel free to give me advice, but don't make it so far out there or say something that might spoil the game for me, for I still want to enjoy this experience.

Is dash really that important in the game? It is like ToA battle system? SO3? DW4? CC?

I too have recently bought this game (couple of days before Christmas for me) ...

I thought I'd cope quite well at it seeing as how I'm quite experienced at S03 now and the games are from the same company ... BOY was I wrong X_X

The game was completely and utterly creaming me for a while ... then just as I thought I'd gotten the hang of it ... it'd cream me again

I've somehow made it to near the end of chapter four ... my strategy thus far has been to beef my mage's (won't spoil his name yet :P) magic as high as possible with the equipment I have in stock and then poke things with Fire Storm until they die. Sometimes I forget to dash away before I run out of AP though then my mage gets creamed

I've seen some videos on youtube from a guy who makes the game seem as easy as pie ... but I don't like to be cheap or broken first time through a game so I haven't been really severely exploiting the system. So I've been slowly soldiering on my way through the game slowly but hopefully surely

The difficulty curves in this game are insane. Good luck.

Apparently you did, since I got a PM from you about it.

Anyways, I'm now on Chapter 3, an stuck on the Kraken boss in the Water Temple. My guys are Lv 11 except for Lezard, who is Lv 8 (I didn't use him for a while).
