I was using healing items and not looking and I must have run out of the healing items I was using and the game went onto using the next items in the list which must have been my Golden Eggs

Good news though - I found out that a chicken in Kalstaad gives you a Golden Egg if you try to talk to it in Chapter 4

However I also discovered I couldn't get the Bird's Ring in Chapter 4 because the chicken that gives the items needed to make it has moved from it's place in Coriander so I had to load my Chapter 3 save again

Today I basically spent some time soloing with Alicia w/th the Valkyrie Favor and had her learn all the red type skills then I went solo with Dylan and had him learn every skill but God Destroyer, Triple Edge, Giant Killer, Dismantle, Forcefield 1000, Forcefield 5000, Demon Destroyer ... I don't have the runes to learn those yet.

Then I went for that damage dealing testing against the Hydra

Oh my Hel! The boss at the end of the Forest of Spirits kicked my ass...horribly! It's that damn Angel Rain attack that keeps on whooping me so bad! I SERIOUSLY need some help on this guy!

Yeah I had trouble there too on my first game. What I did was have Mithra (the other mage I had been working on apart from Lezard) equipped w/th the Fatal Seed (increases damage whilst under Frailty) that I got from some plant in the forest and then hid the group beside one of the elemental pillars after putting all of their lights out. Then I seperated Mithra into his own group and started blasting away at the boss at the edge of it's range. I'd usually try to dash away to recover AP but that didn't always work and Mithra would get killed as the boss quickly turned to attack. When that happened I brought over Alicia to revive him.

IIRC I found out the hard way that this is one of the boss's that have Great Magic as their Soul Crushes. To deal with that during the latter parts of the battle I used Idions Apples/Soft Stone to cure my characters of Frailty, topped up their HPs and used a Nectar Potion (prevents status ailments)

My strategy was kind of risky though because I wanted to get through the boss's HP as fast as possible and not have the battle take forever but if that doesn't appeal to you then perhaps you might want to play it safe by using a Nectar Potion at the start of the fight.

I believe it's possible to stop the boss using Angel Rain right off the bat if you manage to destroy all the elemental pillars fast enough at the start of the battle as well.

The elemental pillars can regenerate later on in the fight as well so you may have to switch from your main damage dealer to your other characters to destroy them again.
