Simple reflection tutorial for photoshop

First off, this is a pretty easy thing to do, in 2 minutes you'll be ready. BTW this is my first ever tutorial so...

Lets begin. I'm making an avatar here although you can use this tutorial for any picture you want, be it a sig or a wallpaper.

Goto File>New
Enter the options just like in the picture.


I set the size to 100x100 because some websites will only except this size as the maximum size of the image.

Now you can see that a white box has been created. Now click on the bucket tool and make sure that the selected colour is black. Now click on the box and it should come black.

After making the picture black, we should import a picture. Goto file>place and select the picture you want. Now place it on the picture. In my case it is a chocobo .


After placing the chocobo, we should duplicate this layer so that there will be two chocobo pictures. Right click on the chocobo layer and select duplicate layer and press OK.


We should now have 2 layers the same. Click on the second layer.
Now goto Edit>Transform>Flip Vertical
Now move the picture which has been flipped with the move tool (press V for a shortcut). Move the image down.


Now we can set the opacity of the second layer to 50%


If you want you can blur it a bit.
And now sit back and enjoy.
