I thought the AI does a good enough job getting themselves killed... no need for assistant suicide!

Ha. Very good point.
Yeah, it kinda sucks to be level 255 now that I remember I don't get bonus battle guage. I think I only had like.....5%-10% against Freya.....so, yeah.

Wow, you would have to beat her without dying or taking a critical in order keep a Bonus chain.

Not to mention fight her a hundred times just to build that 10% rate up to the top.

Yeah.....this is why I need to know these things sooner!!

Well, this will make killing her hella easier when I actually do get a working PS2 (doesn't seem likely in the near future).

You mentioned interest in a PS3, right? I've seen plenty-o complaints on its backwards-compatability with PS2 games; wouldn't rely on that thing to be able to run all your old games smoothly. =/

Ah, I figured.
My PS2s had the same problems, so I figured they might not have worked out the same problem in a newer console.
Well, I can just call my sister and ask her boyfriend how it runs. Though.....he's an idiot.....better ask his son instead.

Yeah, I've done that before.....though, there's very few characters with an AI that won't get them killed in five seconds if I'm not controlling Fayt.

*sneaks past*

Character - Peppita (starting level L1)

Peppita's starting skills -

Counter X - Tap the X button as an enemy is about to attack Peppita. As it goes into it's attacking animation if X is tapped at the right time Peppita's minor counter will trigger. This skill gives Peppita a brief frame of invincibility to protect her from damage, can hit two times for HP + MP damage against a foe (w/o added attack decisions), has the chance of knocking enemies up into the air and can cause chaos (confusion) against random enemies. Counter X can also be used to chain into battle skills but since at L1 Peppita doesn't have any battle skills yet this won't be relevant at this time.

Counter O - Tap the O button as an enemy is about to attack Peppita. As it goes into it's attacking animation if O is tapped at the right time Peppita's major counter will trigger. This skill gives Peppita a longer frame of invincibility than Counter X, can hit a max of four times for great HP + MP damage w/o added attack decisions and also has the chance of causing chaos against random enemies. However unlike Counter X it cannot be used to chain into battle skills but since she doesn't have any at level one anyway it is best to use Counter O due to it's better damage mods and longer invincibility frame at this time.

Short O - Peppita's Short O physical is one of the strongest short strong attacks in the game along with Sophia and Roger's. It can hit multiple times for great damage especially if the enemy is stunned to start off with. However Peppita *is* vulnerable when doing it so if attempting it at L1 make sure to use it as a finisher only and when there is only one enemy left on the battle field. If the enemy has low HP it will finish them off in style.

Peppita's starting equipment -

Weapon - Cape of Assault
Armour - Robe
Accessories - Heavy Bangle

Another reason why people might think Peppita is weak is because they might have forgotten to get new equipment for her and instead used her in battle with her crappy default equipment (despite the Cape of Assault's cool name the set up isn't very effective). Be fair and get her new equipment ASAP like you've been doing with your other characters ;p

Recommended equipment for Peppita -

Weapons -

*Spike Shoes (default factors adds water damage + shoots powerful balls of ice whilst attacking) - Words cannot express just how awesme these pair of shoes are. First all w/th them equipped Peppita will have 500+ ATK - that's right that much ATK power for a level one character. Then it enhances Peppita's attacks and offensive battle skills with the power of water which is the elemental weakness of the enemies in the area she joins. It also comes w/th the factor shoots powerful balls of ice whilst attacking meaning that when Peppita uses her physical attacks she has a chance of shooting ice balls all over the place taking out multiple enemies at once. This is the best weapon for Peppita to use at Moonbase and against other enemies weak to water like the Enforcers on Styx and the randoms in Moonbase when using the likes of counterattacks, Short O, Magic Hook, Instanto Blast, Kaboom and Faerie Friend.

You can obtain the Spike Shoes by raiding the storeroom behind the bar in Moonbase.

* Laser Weapon - Peppita's Frozen Daggers battle skill comes w/th an innate water element by default so there is no need to enhance it w/th the Spike Shoes. Instead Laser Weapon is chosen for when using this skill due to the weapon having a higher base ATK power than the Spike Shoes.

You can get a Laser Weapon from a chest in Moonbase, from one in the Sphere Company or buy them from the weapon's shop in Gemity. They are also a rare drop by the spider tank robots on Styx.

Armour - Alabative Shield - from chest on Moonbase.

Accessories -

Warrior's Bracelet + War God's Symbol (if not using convert damage to MP)

Regeneration Symbol + Regeneration Symbol (if using convert damage to MP)

Suggested extras

*Tattered Tome - if you want bring a Tattered Tome from Elicoor to use on Peppita at Moonbase. Being one of the frailer characters HP + DEF wise Peppita is one of the characters where durability can be improved by working with the stats they grow well in like MP. If you set Peppita up w/th Convert Damage Preserve HP ON in the Tactical Skills menu you can give her MP regens so she can keep her MP topped up herself and also later on you can also add +20% Max MP factors to increase her MP health bar even further.

* Orichalcum! *gasps* *hides from anti-Orichalcum brigade* - Seriously though some people think Peppita is weak because they go to Moonbase w/th their weapons laden down w/th Orichalcum. In that case they should do the fair thing and give Peppita some too Be warned this will give her gamebreaking pwnge power though thanks to the additional perks she can receive from Power Dance.

Suggested levelling up areas

1) Moonbase -

Good skills to use against the enemies -

Ice Blade + Increase HP damage (Fayt)
Ice Daggers (Nel)
Power Up (Maria/Sophia)
Spike Shoes + counter attacks (Peppita)
Laser Weapon + Power Dance + Frozen Daggers (Peppita)
Spike Shoes + Power Dance + any offensive battle skill (Peppita)
Ice Needles/Deep Freeze (Sophia)

Moonbase is the first choice of levelling spots that you will have for Peppita. Personally I think it is a stage that was made for her. You have the enemies that are weak to water/ice and have low MP and Peppita who is basically handed the awesme water elemental Spike Shoes on a plate, has counter attacks and skills that do good MP damage and finally as if that weren't enough soon gains Power Dance to boost damage output even further o_o

The max explotation of enemies in this place for Peppita to level up and gain Power Dance in one to two battles is solo fighting two bi-pedal robots.

Strategy - Important! - Save your game before trying. Have Peppita alone in battle w/th Spike Shoes + Alabative Shield + accessories of choice. Fight a running man type robot on the field screen and initiate battle w/th it. If it's two bi-pedal robots all well and good if not run away/reset if you have to. Once you have two bi-pedal robots wait until they are within Peppita's short range. Position Peppita slightly in front of them and as they initiate an attack tap O. If done correctly Peppita's counter attack will trigger w/th her becoming invincible as well as doing great damage to the enemy. Repeat if you have to but if the ice balls on the Spike Shoes trigger Peppita will manage to take both bi-pedal enemies out at once even on higher difficulty modes.

Peppita will gain at least eleven levels from a bi-pedal robot fight if she fights solo more if you finish the fight w/th a triple exp bar. If you at least get eleven levels then one more fight will give her Power Dance. Go for it,

I really suggest trying to learn Peppita's counter attacks at Moonbase. If you get really good perhaps you will be able to take down two bi-pedal robots and a stinger robot too

However if you're not comfortable soloing then let a couple of your built up party members take care of enemies up front on AI whilst you control Peppita at range - keeping her out of the way of enemy attacks and using items to heal/revive allies as needed. Peppita has great item use times so she's good for using this way as well

Regardless once Peppita has Power Dance it's time to take this show to the next level. Destroyers - the most deadliest enemies on Moonbase yet also those that wield the best EXP in the area. They are the best choice if you want to do long term training here.

Best damage output against them is Peppita w/th Laser Weapon + Long X - Power Dance > Frozen Daggers (Instanto Blast + Spike Shoes for MP damage) and or/Nel w/th Ice Daggers (Flying Guillotine for MP damage) Fayt w/th Ice Blade (start it up for him if you have to) and Cliff w/th Aerial Assault (for HP or MP damage teams) Albel w/th Aura Wall and/or Cliff with Fists of Fury to try and stunlocking the Destroyers w/th can also be good.

2) Styx -

Another great levelling place. The Proclaimers especially give great EXP for the whole party with a Triple EXP bar.

Good skills to use against the enemies -

*Enforcers

Ice Blade + Increase HP damage or Increase MP damage (Fayt)
Ice Daggers (Nel)
Power Up (Maria/Sophia)
Spike Shoes + counter attacks (Peppita)
Laser Weapon + Power Dance + Frozen Daggers (Peppita)
Spike Shoes + Power Dance + any offensive battle skill (Peppita)
Ice Needles/Deep Freeze (Sophia)

* Proclaimers

Lightning Blade + Increase HP damage (Fayt)
Whirlwind + Increase HP damage/Stun (Nel)
Power Up (Maria/Sophia)
Laser Weapon + counters + Power Dance + Kaboom/Increase HP damage/Faerie Friend (Peppita)
Thunder Flare (Sophia)
Air Slash (Albel)

3) Gemity Battle Arena

Personally I've never extensively levelled Peppita up from L1 here (I can't wait that long to level Peppita and Sophia up! <_<) but a few people from GameFAQs recommend it. Try Peppita's counters against the Twin Beasts are try to freeze and shatter kill them w/th Frozen Daggers.

I'm going to have to make a seperate post for levels to aim for - I don't have enough space o_O

Level(s) to Aim for -

L5 - At L5 Peppita learns Magic Hook which is sort of like a chibi version of Cliff and Mirage's Aerial Assault in that it can score HP damage on enemies due to having quite a high damage modifier. It is also one of Peppita's few skills that can be used from range so it is a good choice to deal HP damage from afar. Use the Spike Shoes to enhance it with the water element on Moonbase and it will hit from double damage on the enemies there. Magic Hook can sometimes hit twice and then it really is of Aerial Assault power. It also has the chance of snagging the enemy like Roger's Whirling Heat and of dragging Peppita to a snagged enemy or the enemy to Peppita. It has a slight chance of causing confusion on random enemies.

L10 - At L10 Peppita learns Frozen Daggers Basically Frozen Daggers is like a slightly slower but more powerful version of Nel's Ice Daggers. It has a higher number of hits and higher damage modifiers. It also has slightly better range so it can be the safer of the two skills to use at times. This is a great long range skill for Peppita to use against enemies that don't null or absorb ice/water. This skill like Nel's Ice Daggers also has the chance of freezing an enemy whereupon it will be possible to shatter the frozen enemy with a physical attack. In addition it is also one of the few skills that AI Peppita can use relatively well.

L15 - At L15 Peppita learns Power Dance - This is the best skill in the maingame. Why? - because it makes everything else better. No matter what you do Power Dance will still be able to add to your damage output. The ability of Power Dance is to boost the ATK power of Peppita and all allies within range at by almost double at L1 and by almost triple at skill L10 enhancing the damage output of all offensive battle skills except symbology. At Moonbase L1 Power Dance alone will give Peppita double the damage output then when we factor in her Spike Shoes and enemy weakness hitting attacks that's four times the power. Add in your allies to that and ..

Eventually w/th a L10 Power Dance Peppita can max her ATK to 9999 w/o any atk boosting factors from item creation whatsover. That's later on in the game.

L20 - At L20 Peppita learns Instanto Blast - Ironically if I recall correctly my very first experience of Yoherz was of him saying how much Peppita sucked and that he had her w/th Instanto Blast. Well no wonder! Instanto Blast is one of Peppita's weakest attacks - HP damage wise. At MP damage however it is decent so it's a good choice to use against enemies w/th low MP. It also has the ability to hit the enemy anywhere on the battlefield and w/th fully active mode it can hit anywhere from anywhere. Boost it w/th Critical Hit MP for further enhancement and level it to L4+ to gain the ability to hit multiple enemies.

L31 - Peppita learns Berserk at L31. It does the same thing that it does for Roger and any other character with Berserk on. Get it for Peppita ASAP so she can do even more damage and create longer cancel combo chains.
