I thought Taunt just attracted the enemy's attention towards you.

My Albel can get angry every now and then (it was the only way I beat the Chimera on Universe), though I might stop using Albel once I beat Freya on Galaxy...if I ever get around to doing that.

I can't get Taunt to work at all

There were lots of instances when I wanted a boss to go after my Peppita after using Taunt because she can just counter anything thrown her way which will also protect the silly AI, but it never seemed to change their minds on an attack target ;_;

That's Taunt! When Someone Kills A Character Of Your Party, The Characters Say Stuff Like That, And When They Do, Their Parameters Are Doubled, Just As If You Taunted An Enemy

Weird. It's always worked for me, even on bosses. At which point I run around in circles and go "AHHHH! HOLY CRAP!! I'M GONNA DIE!!! "

Freya has a thing for Sophia (which is why Taunt fails, if ever).

I might use Maria, but only to get the Battle Trophies that you can only get by using Maria (or at least make getting those hard to get trophies seem possible). Other than that, probably Nel, since I've seen how kick ass she can be, even on the Japanese version.

She spams Repth like Atoli, so Freya is like "STFU!!" and wants to kill her first. lol.
Nah, the real reason is because I think this game has something that FFXI (and other games) called "hate" factors. It's that when a character does damage or heals, whichever character does the most gets hate.
For example:
The team is a warrior, white mage, and black mage.
- The warrior does 700 damage to the monster, the black mage does 500, and the white mage heals 400. In this case, the warrior gets the hate and the monster will attack him.
- In another case, we'll say the black mage did 800 and the warrior did 600, and the white mage still heals 400. The black mage then has the most hate, and gets attacked by the monster (usually the warrior has to use a quick skill to do some damage and get the hate off him).
- And in the last scenario, we'll say the white mage heals 1,000 HP, the warrior does 450, and the black mage does 400. Even though they do damage, the healer healed a significant amount, so they get the hate and the monster will attack them. At this point, the warrior and black mage will go all out to try and save the white mage, obviously. lol.

Anyways, my point is that Sophia heals a lot, so she might get a lot of hate just for that, as well as that I always blitz with Fayt, so that must be why his taunts seem to never fail.

Yeah, Nel does suit you. Not as much as Albel, but yeah.
Wonder who I should try next. Maybe Cliff? Maybe Sophia for her Thunder Flare, but that's about it. Any suggestions?

Yeah, but I really don't think it makes them any stronger. It's more of that you can taunt them that much without them catching up to you and pwning you horribly.

I guess almost the entire population of the S03 community has no idea what they are talking about when it comes to Taunt then eh

Anyway lew I'm sure your Maria would sometimes get angry regardless of whether you used taunt or not o_o Depends on how high her affection points are for her allies

Well I forgot to mention the MP damage -

7000+ per hit at 300% cancel - 8000+ when her Critical Hit MP support skill triggers.

That's 14 - 16'000+ per hit on a stunned enemy

Also if you switch to another character and use a Roe Tablet or Shielding Device on Peppita she becomes invincible during Dream Hammer so the enemy can't knock her out of the move.

Peppita will continue swinging her hammer if you have her on the AI tactic "Don't use coup de gras" before you switch back to her.

Who to use? -

Well since you like controlling Fayt I'd go for allies that have somewhat decent AI like ... Mirage ... or Roger ... or Maria o_o

You already used Cliff and Sophia didn't you? ;o

Cliff is usually known to have decent AI whilst Sophia can sometimes be a problem ;p

I wouldn't recommend AI Albel, AI Nel or AI Peppita except under certain circumstances.

Peppita won't cancel quickly out of her dances on AI so unless you want a Support! Peppita doing nothing but boosting your stats with Power Dance and healing with Healing/Magical Dance don't give her AI dances.

There are some non dance specific AI Peppita set ups though so if you ever do use her (remember you can turn voices off ;p) let me know and I'll help you out with her =-)

I have lots of equipment set ups and skill set ups hidden away

AI Albel doesn't seem to use his best skills Aura Wall or Double Slash of Fury correctly.

AI Nel can't use Whirlwind properly.

Nel's good with Mirror Slice though.

Adray .. has a strange AI. Sometimes he just stands there staring into space as if daydreaming but at other times he's actually really good at casting support and healing spells from the menu. He'll usually keep to long range as well keeping himself out of danger. However he's poor at offensive assaults/damage dealing.

More of an idea than Fear. I just don't get that skill at all
