I was sooooo close to beating Freya! Then I ran out of stun bombs and she wouldn't stop spamming Ether Strike (which gave me the idea that I was close to beating her). This is what I ended up doing to get so close...


1) I geared more for HP damage.

2) I set all characters to Manual control.

3) I mainly controlled Mirage (I'm probably going to stop using Albel after I beat Freya on Galaxy).

4) And I set this to Mirage:
a) XS: Electric Fists
b) XL: None
c) OS: Triple Kick
d) OL: None
e) Support: Max Fury

5) When Freya used her heavy attack or Ether Strike, I used a stun bomb, then followed up with an Elec Fist, then Cancel Bonus 175% Triple Kick (this averaged out to about 150,000 damage if I was lucky enough).

6) Sophia was devoted ONLY to healing.


All in all, this whole battle took me over an hour, and I still lost. Anybody got any good ideas on what I should do to better prepare? And no...I'm not going to use Maria until AFTER I beat Freya without using Maria's quick kill combo.


Till then, I'm gonna play Phantasy Star Universe collecting Meseta to get the ultimate daggers, spears, and armor (millions of Meseta to go...) and clear the final chapter so I can play Ambition of the Illuminus.

Hm. I'd say make more stun bombs and buy whatever other bombs will stun, then see which is cheapest to make and make a ton of those.
Though, that's just me. If it were up to me, I would have like 99 of every bomb before I fought her, if I had the time.

Make sure you beat the game before you get that all armor and stuff. No doubt you're going to be at LEAST level 90 by the time you get the meseta for all that stuff which will make the final boss as easy as you saw me do it when you were here.
Also, even if you somehow stayed that low of a level, the best weapons and armor make the game significantly easier. With all that stuff, the game is barely a challange at all, even as a mystic (think that's the name of that class).

Oh and make SURE you get some Whitill Wings. They don't look that great but they fetch for some serious bling.

I've already beaten PSU (Dulk Falkis was a JOKE no thanks to my ultimate claws) , and I'm playing Ambition of the Illuminus...anyways...

I have to ENG more EM Stun Bombs I know, and I think there are some good Stun Bombs you can CMPD, but even then, I believe you have to have Puffy on your team to make them.

Yeah, told you it makes it too easy. I can pwn him horribly and only take a bit of damage since I'm max level with the best of nearly everything. The best armor is horribly strong (I think +150 def and +104 eva from the second best armor).

Probably. Maybe check some gamefaqs guides before going on.

The Strategy I Reccomend You Using, Is Puting The Guy/Girl Who's Gonna Use Stun Bombs And Heal In A Corner, Then, Use ANOTHER Character As A Bait, That DOESN'T Stop Running, So Freya Goes After Him/Her All The Time, Try To Take Freya To The OPPOSITE Corner Where Your Stunner/Healer Character Is Standing, Use Stun Bombs ONLY With Large Combo Attacks And Ether Strike, NO OTHER USE. For Attacking Freya, I Reccomend In This Order

2)Nel
3)Fayt
4)Cliff/Mirage
For Using As The Bait, I REALLY Reccomend
1)Albel
2)Nel
3)Pepitta
AND For Healing, Sophia Or That Ugly Adray¬¬

I've defeated Freya lots of times w/o her - and easily.

Gondor - You have Albel in the party? -

Short O - Aura Wall
Support - No Guard + First Aid

Stunbomb her first then try to get her bouncing around with an Aura Wall. Once she's bouncing switch to Mirage and use a move that won't mess with Aura Wall - Aerial Assault perhaps? Get your cancel combos going with that and switch back to Albel for setting up more Aura Walls when needed.

Sophia can be hidden in a corner to switch to for healing/stunbombs if you want though if you have Peppita she's a faster caster of Healing/item user unless you also want to use Sophia for Thunder Flare chains for some extra locking ;p

Though really Peppita is wasted as bait ;_; However both her and Fayt have some pretty cheap stuff that they could use and I know you don't really like cheapness :P

I use her quite a bit now though granted not as much as other characters. My most used characters are Sophia (o_o), Peppita ... and I believe Albel. I did a topic at GameFAQs for people to post all the teams that they had used and when I put mine all down in writing it was those three that popped out most often. No surprise for Peppita since she's my favourite and Sophia was before I first took Peppita though I hadn't realised I had used Albel quite as much :P

I also thought I had used Cliff more but it seems that I haven't ;p I was suprised because I know how awesme he is.

I've been using Aura Wall + Thunder Flare + Power Dance > Faerie Friend on my new Galaxy file with Albel, Sophia and Peppita I've also been using it to help Peppita set up Dream Hammer on a Universe file.

Albel *has* to be on manual ;p Seems to me he never uses Aura Wall more than once per battle when he's on auto =/

The problem with light moves is that they can trigger enemy AAA - if Freya somehow managed to get her guard back up I wouldn't like Gondor's party to be assaulted by her Star Guard V_V

How exactly do you know that?.....

Well ... I've defeated both Universe and 4-D Freya within five minutes with Peppita's fully twinked Dream Hammer set up (Albel helped on Universe since the no movement glitch doesn't work as well there as 4-D) and Universe Lenneth within five minutes with a Ethereal Blast + Faerie Friend + Thunder Flare combo.

Which I have yet to try properly for myself but which looks like a lot of fun.


Gondor - NP.

Aerial Assault is awesme for either HP or MP damage especially on a stunned Freya so you don't have to worry either way there. As for Albel Aura Wall is just there for the bouncing not the damage since it's damage is really poor on Freya =/ Mirage should be the main offence.

Other tactics to consider are - Sphere of Might + Aura Wall dual locking - Air Slash spamming from afar, Double Slash of Fury ... If you're willing to consider another third apart from Sophia micromanaging between Aura Wall and Instanto Blast or if you're skilled Aura Wall + Faerie Friend. Or if you have Cliff he can pretty much do the same as Mirage although he also has Max Shockwave.

lol ... I'm assuming you have Peppita as your other optional :P

If you have Nel FG combos instead of IB is an option ... Roger ... uhhh ... I have no idea since I haven't used the Roger/Albel party after disc one before ;p I'm taking that combo for the first time on one of the new 4-D mode files I am doing.
