No, there's no acclaimed method of doing it.
Though, a shinigami comes with their Death Note, so I could just take one from them.

lol. The only way to kill a shinigami is to make them fall in love with a human. Nobody can resist Angelina Jolie, so once I get her on my side, I get her to seduce him, he dies, I get his Deth Note, and then I give her her revenge, and go on to become god of this world and eventually end up getting killed by some random 20-something-year-old virgin that's never been outside his room as I roll around on the floor screaming, "I don't wanna die!" over and over pathetically.
