The worlds that should have been.

I just about fell out of my chair when i seen that there was only 2 threads in a Kingdom Hearts 3 spec thread. I couldnt believe no one had been talking about it. Me and a friend wrote this a while back about worlds/characters that should have been in KH or that should be in the next one. Enjoy.

After playing Kingdom Hearts I, many of us began to wonder what other Disney and Final Fantasy related properties might have made more interesting additions to the universe that this crossover offered. With the coming of Kingdom Hearts II I'm sure many of us were surprised by the addition of unlikely worlds such as Tron and Pirates of the Carribean, but weren't quite satisfied by these additions. Personally I found Kingdom Hearts II to be lacking some of the depth of KHI, but this may be because I have grown as a person and am no longer as impressed by the concept. Despite this, the FF Disney crossover is too good a concept, and I hate to think that I have been dissapointed by a game in this series in any way. Because of this, I would like to offer up for discussion, The Worlds That Should Have Been. I'm sure many of the better Disney properties have already been used, and the creator himself has said there would be no Final Fantasy based worlds, but still, I know in my heart that there are more possibilities out there to diversify this concept and keep it interesting, within the limits and boundaries of a universe based on Disney and Square owned properties.

This list will be updated based on world suggestions. If you have an idea for a world that would be good for the next Kingdom Hearts game (if there is one, God willing), within the license restrictions, please post it in the thread and describe how it would affect the storyline and gameplay mechanics. Please, be reasonable with your suggestions. The worlds present are all either original or based on Disney owned properties (with the exception of The Nightmare Before Christmas), so please follow these guidelines. I will accept suggestions based on Square Enix owned properties (even though the creator has said there would be no actual WORLDS based on Final Fantasy) as well as possible entries outside of these guidelines, seeing as Tim Burton's property is an exception to the rule. However, please try not to suggest absurdly outside these restrictions, even if I bend them a bit. In other words dont suggest Dragon Ball Z or Rugrats or anything completely rediculous like that.

Toy Story
For most of the worlds, one limitation is that they cannot be similar to a modern day world. Instead they HAVE to have one degree of separation from the norm, whether it takes place in medieval china or under the ocean, in the case of worlds that arent extroardinarily unlike our own reality. Toy Story DOES take place in "our world," so to speak, however the degree of separation lies in the perspective, that of a Toy. Therefore, our own world becomes an entirely new one, set in a more vibrant and colorful theme.

Once you arrive in the first level of this world, Andy's Room, you are introduced to the world much like Buzz lightyear was, first appearing on Andy's bed to the curious stares of the other Toys. Sora and the others would take on brightly colored plastic appearances, much like Toy armor, keeping Sora's anime-esque appearance, but still altering his theme to match that of the level. Goofy and Donald would do this as well, but unlike Sora's anime styled toy persona, they would be wearing their original Disney clothing (not the clothing themed to the Disney castle world that they usually wear, but the clothing you would see them wearing in their original cartoons, Donalds sailor outfit, you know) with the obvious plastic appearance.

I'm not sure whether you would appear before, after, or simultaneously to Buzz Lightyear, but the storyline would still probably follow his awkward introduction to the Toys, but yours as well. The toys are facinated by these four new visitors, except Woody, who is jealous of all the attention they are getting. While Sora, Donald, and Goofy play along and allowing the inhabitants to believe they are toys as well, Buzz does not, and claims he is not a "Toy," but a visitor from another world, while Woody spends most of his time trying to convince him otherwise. This offers up an interesting possible plot twist, as Buzz's story may sound far-fetched to Woody, it sounds all too familiar to your own... maybe Buzz isn't a toy after all, but a traveler like yourself.

Now I know what you're thinking, this defies my own rule, as Hawaii is obviously a modern day world. However, it was my intention to keep Stitch in Space, having you follow him as experiment 626 on some kind of spaceship between worlds, much like Monstro was in KH1. I do know that he is a summon in KH2, but so were Simba and Mushu, and they made appearances later on as well.
If the plot twist I mentioned above for Buzz Lightyear was used, then this would allow him to make an appearance in this world as well. Now, it might be better to keep the original story's ending with Buzz coming to the realization that he truly is a Toy, since my plot twist might require too many alterations to the story, however this would allow an interesting play on the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command storyline and allow Buzz Lightyear to play a role in Stitch's predicament.

Monsters Inc.
If you havent realized yet, its not my style to just leave the worlds alone as a bubble of its own storyline, not to interfere with the main plot, though it is, unfortunately, how the game's creator likes to roll. For example, I see a good way to use the Monster's Inc plot in the KH storyline, but in order for me to do this, it would have to be altered in a somewhat drastic way. Where the doors in Monster's Inc. are between the monster world and the modern day human world (which would be innapropriate under my guidelines), these doors could lead to many of the other worlds previously only accesable by gummi travel. For example, Monster's Inc. could act as a heartless factory of some sort (after being taken control of by Malificent or someone), allowing the Heartless entry into all the other worlds. This world would be reached later on in the story, and it may be necessary to shut the factory down so that heartless can no longer travel between worlds with the ease that they do, provided by the many doors of the factory. I also thought it would be neat for Sora, donald, and Goofy to take on monstrous appearances, themed in the cartoony, brightly colored and rediculous style of the monsters in the movie.

Yeah, those are some good ideas but I personally think that they should add some more Final Fantasy into Kingdom Hearts. Nothing against Disney though.

Oh how right you are. With so much cloud and sephiroth Midgar should have been in the game by a landslide.

lol it just hit me. What would Sora, Donald, and goofy look like there? Ya know since they always get new looks on each planet/world. I mean his hair couldnt get much spikey'er :P. If anything remember when cloud steps in with sephiroth in KH2 and tifa is like he will be back they left to blah blah. Well ive read that at that part they went to the time of Advent Children. If KH3 has Midgar or a FFVII world it should take place as when Advent Children does.
