New KH games

According to Square Enix, they will be releasing 2 Kingdom Hearts games for the PSP and the Nintendo DS.

For the PSP:
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

Anyone who's made it to the final movie in Kingdom Hearts II (or watched the extended Japan-only Final Mix + video) will be familiar with the three armored keyblade weilders who star in Birth By Sleep. Players will control all of these characters at different times throughout the story, which takes place before the original Kingdom Hearts. Tetsuya Nomura will also be directing this title and it will be developed by the team that created the PS2 reake of Chain of Memories (again, Japan-only). Speaking of CoM, Birth by Sleep will use an advanced version of the card deck combat system. Both games have no announced release date, but Birth by Sleep is expected to release after the DS title.

WTF? Before KH1? Wow! I might need to get a PSP! If the story in KHBbS is really as they say it is, I think I might have to replay Kingdom Hearts a third time. To see if there's any extra info to lead me in the direction of finding a possible story plot. But if the KHBbS trailer shows roxas dying, how can Roxas even exist? Roxas wasn't made until sora became a heartless. Maybe... Maybe Roxas didn't die. Maybe sora was brought from the future to fight. Hmmm... This is really making my brain hurt. Anyways, on to the DS version!

For the Nintendo DS:

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
(Pronounced: three five eight over two days)

This DS branch of the new Kingdom Hearts titles is expected to come out before the PSP release. Directed by Tetsuya Nomura and developed by H.A.N.D., 358/2 Days focuses on Roxas' time with Organization XIII while Sora takes a year-long nap between Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II. A four-player multiplayer mode will be included, allowing players to pick among any of the Organization XIII members. Modes include competitive and cooperative play, but it is still unclear whether this will be online or local. By the way, when you're talking about this game with your buddies, pronounce it "three five eight over two days" or risk complete humiliation.

Hmmm... Also interesting. I think Online multiplayer sounds better than Local. I call Roxas! But why is the game called 358/2 Days? Is there math involved? Is that how long a year is in Japan? Is that how long Sora has been sleeping? Well, if the game is gonna be on the DS, I would expect voices for the cuscenes. Not text boxes or subtitles. A picture above the game description in my magazine shows Roxas sitting on the ledge at twilight tower wearing the black Org. XIII uniform. He isn't looking off into the distance daydreaming either. His eyes are clearly focused on someone's face. And he's smiling as well. No, my brain is hurting again! Make it stop!!!


Well, I delivered more news again. I'm still not sure if you guys have posted this already or not, but you may want to consider making two sections in the Kingdom Hearts forum this is in. So then, we'll have a section for every KH game on here!

Weird. I still don't know why they're STILL making an attempt to redeem themselves with KH games.

Seriously. Unless they start asking for help from the original makers of the game, I'm not buying it.

Yeah, since the game setting is before Kingdom Hearts, i'd LOVE to see how the game is going to play out. But why is Xehanort in the game? And why is he bald? I think i'm starting to get it now. Only time will tell.
