myths and legends

lately i've been reading allot about myths and stuff. does anyone have any favorite myths or mythical/legendary creatures?

my favorite myth is probally the one about Perseus going to find the gorgan. and i really like all the cool items he got. kinda reminded me of the zelda series. my favorite mythical creatures are centours, elves, fairies, pixies, pucks and cambions

I like elves, fairys, nymphs, centaurs, vampires, (if they arent abused << ) , goblins, and any form of magic users who dont ride pitch forks or brooms :/ .

As far as legends go, I really dont know of any I like. they usually end really stupid...like a guy going a little too high into the sky, having his fake wings melt because he was exposed to the sun too long, falling and inevitably dying x_x .

My favorite legendary creatures have to be vampires, elves, dragons, and Cerberus.


My favorite myth has to be about the origins of the changing seasons from Greek Mythology about Persephone beind married to Hades and whatnot and also being forced to stay in the Underworld for X months because that's how many persimmon seeds she ate. Second fave myth has to be the story of Orpheus, and his journey to the Underworld to bring back his dead lover.


On that note: Does anyone here think that Hades is just a tad bit under appreciated?

I don't think Hades is as appreciated as he should be. Now I'm trying to remember who Hel is...
