Crazy mode? No. Much worse. I'll sum up the boss fight with Priestess:

 So your characters carry over after the new game +? You don't have to wait to get them in the storyline?

No. You still have to wait for them. The only things that transfer in a new game + are:
Player Level (MC only) Player Stats (Academics, Charm, and Courage) Items and Equipment Compendium Requests completed (I think) Items received from MAX S. Links (but not S. Link levels) Things that'll transfer when you load up P3 data to use to start a new game on FES: Player Stats Compendium Items received from MAX S. Links So yeah.
