They set off the chip in my silver PS2 to fry it!!

Now I can't play any games and keep getting a disk read error, just like the other PS2s.

Wow that sucks man. Ive had my ps2 for like 6 years never any problems. My original xbox though quit reading disks, but i got it fixed for free.

I've been through four freaking PS2s this year alone. This sucks.

Next time I'm gonna get the schematics for the PS3 and take out any suspicous parts.....like that thing they call a "fan".....like a piece of metal would ever need a fan! I don't see my cellphone with a fan on it!

Well my silver PS2 is only about the size of three opened up cell phones (or like two, and maybe a half, iPhones) so it can't make that much more heat.

Though, come to think of it, I don't remember ever seeing a fan on my silver PS2.

Have you ever tried turning off your PS2 to cool it down? It can actually help.

I remember the first time I had that. 6 months ago, on my ye olde Ps2. Black big and old. Suddenly Sora was pink and Xemnas purple. You can either get a new chipset or just buy a new playstation o.o

It's not really the chipset, and this is the 4th PS2 it's happened to just this year. After that many PS2s, something HAS to be up with it. Especially since this one was brand new and only lasted about a month, whereas my original one lasted about two or three years.
