Defeat?

Have you ever gotten down to the final boss and been beat? Resulting in losing atleast an hours worth of gameplay maybe even two?

I was playing FFIII for my DS earlier and i got all the way to the final boss and lost. I was shaking i couldnt even see stright. Made me so mad that i had freakin wasted about 2 hours on NOTHING. Because its past this point in the game where you arent allowed to save, which is just lame.

Takes you forever tog et back to where you were.....

It's happened to me in some games, but only a few.
Then there were those times like KH Sephy where I got him so low that all I had to do was TOUCH him and he would die, but he somehow ended up taking down my full HP before then.

ouch i can feel that sting seph is hard in that game.

Yeah, seriously.
Took me about 30 tries (not exaggerating, literally) to finally beat him.
I even remember calling Gondor at.....I think it was like 70 or 8 at night to tell him.

That one shot left loss was the battle RIGHT before I beat him. Made that victory all the sweeter.

And yeah, I hate when you get defeated by a final boss, specially when you have to go over an entire dungeon go get to it and you can't save.
Bit it's really sweet when you win at the first try

Just don't make my mistakes. You know those special dungeons in every RPG, where there are super strong enemies, super cool treasure or weapons, or whatever, don't train beat the final boss first. The final fight loses completely all the excitement when you're overleveled =(

lol im trained up to level 70 now with job levels of 99 and im going back to fight him again. So i hope i AM overleveled now because i want to rip right through it.

It's curious how old games tend to be much harder than new ones =P

Have you played FF II? =O Compare it to FF X difficulty, which is a piece of cake

FFX was a freakin push over lol so i agree 100%. Old SNES and NES rpg are 10x harder than most games today.

Yeah, seriously.
I completely, totally, and utterly pwned the final boss of PSU (Phantasy Star Universe) from being overleveled. I killed him before he could even use his super attack, which starts when he hits 1/4 HP.
Same with .hack//G.U. Vol. 3. My Haseo was level 140 (max is 150) and I completely pwned the final boss. I didn't even have to heal.....it was so anti-climactic because you had to fight monsters 10-20 times harder than the boss JUST to get to him. ;

Yeah, but that was mostly because they had no idea what they were doing.

that is true, but made them excellent games. I like about 90% of old school games.
