unfortunately for my FFVIII, FFX takes the cake. the story is definitely engrossing. FFVIII comes close with its love story, but X tops it.

It has to be 7 for me as there is so much you can do in the game thats why im hoping that they will remake it.

final fantasy 7 had it all i played it so long i actally thought i was cloud and hopeing for a remake 8 and 9 are a close second

I really like FF VII's anime-oriented well-worked plot.
But I voted for FF IX, 'cause I found the story very charming. Zidane's courage, Garnet's innocence, Vivi's dilemma of existence, Freiya's pride, Steiner's loyalty vs Beatrix loyalty (I love the relationship between these 2 =P), all amazing characters mixed together in a plot that began as a conspiracy between contries but soon developed into something bigger, much and smartly bigger.
