Here's a friend of mine wedding on FFXI. Yes you can get married in the game and its not easy, SE takes this whole preceding very serious. But its really cool and fun once you get it setup. Its cool cause you do get a special ring with your spouse name on it during the hour long ceremony.

A lot of the married couples that play the game do this crazy thing. But yes you get married to another of the characters in the game. Those two in the picture are from the USA and the UK, they have become great long distance friends via IM and voice chat .. and there both Paladins if that helps to make sence of it, hehe.
edit: i just remember i have pictures of another friends wedding, this is married couple in r/l and they where pld's too...
