Ugh. I wonder why people have to ask why FFX-2 sucks. just looking at the game will give you a good idea. The very beginning might be hint enough.

Anyway I remeber the hot spring scene and I remeber thinking, why are those wierd things in the backround watching and dancing around, more importantly why aren't Yuna Rikku and Paine beating them up for it.The people that made that seen had to have been watching hentai beforehand. I just want to bring up that the fact that Rikku's swim wear was less reveiling then the one she walks around in.I love this game and all but I love it for the system and the fact that Yuna wants to kick some @$$ in this one.I really liked the Vegnagun Battle though, but the first part was EASYYYYY.

Anyway thats all for today folks.By the way as to not keep on going about why it sucks i am making a thread.

Some of the fiends on FFX-2, were actually difficult bosses on FFX. Which I did not like either.

No no. FINAL Fantasy was most likely named that becuase the company that created it was on their last dollar. If FF1 had failed, the whole company would have been ruined.
Also, this game in itself, (as said by the reviewer) is COMPLETELY opposite to ALL other FF games before its time. The other ones were about action, battles, great magics, saving the world, spiky hair, and the main hero eventually falling in love (i.e. FFVIII). Not about a group of three girls running around in mini-skirts and giving back massages, doing missions JUST to get skimpy outfits, and running around the world contradicting the very sotryline they're making.

As for Cloud, that was just for, as my friend calls it, "sh**s and giggles" or as it's actually called, comic relief. You have the Aeris and Tifa trapped in a w**** house and you have to rescue them. Pretty stressful situation, eh? It was meant to relax the player so tehy weren't on edge all the time. FFX-2 had the "GO GO GO" battle system and storyline where they simply rushed you through the game with lots of hentai in it.

No Yuffie and Selphie were airheads. Plain and simple. Yuffie has a one-track mind and is practically addicted to materia, and Selphie.....I don't even know. She's just a freaking airhead.
But yes, you do see Rikku be serious about some things. Like her "memories are nice, but that's all they are" speech in Gaudosalam. But that's just the problem.
They took her from that deep, kind, intelligent (mechanically, at least) and understanding Rikku, and made her into an idiot in X-2. That was the problem.

Well it's very anti-climactic. Ok, picture this. You're in the final battle against, say, Tidus. You're all emotional and stuff and the battle is almost over and it's such a shame that you have to kill him (or whatever) and right before the final attack, you have to switch to another dressphere to survive the turn you need. So you've got this big emotional scene and then you see this shiny faerie thing going on and you have to wait for it to finish - and it just really kills the mood.
This is also what I was trying to get across when I mentioned that a semi-realtime battle system was not the best choice since they were trying to rush you through, but were also holding you back at the same time (not true for all games, but this one was just one of those "GO GO GO" games).

Yes, FFX-2 is nowhere near a traditional FF game. That's what made it so outlandish and proved to be such a dissapointment to so many long-time fans like myself, and especially Gondor.

It's practically thanks to this game alone that my fandom of FF has diminished BELOW other RPGs (FFIV Advance pushed it a little lower, but FFXII negates that somewhat). My 5 favorite games of all time doesn't have a single FF game in there thanks to FFX-2:

1 - Tales of the Abyss
2 - Persona 3
3 - Silent Hill 2
4 - Valkyrie Profile 2
5 - Wild ARMs 3
