It's official. I don't hate Sephiroth...I LOATHE HIM!!!

As said above, I absolutely loathe Sephiroth right now. I don't see what's so great about him? Why in the hell do so many people like him besides the fact that he's bishonen-like or yaoi fodder? I seriously don't get it. He's a total wuss when you fight him in FFVII and in KH, he's just an annoying pest (bad idea giving him a story in KHII, Square Enix). For the love of God, he's the easiest final boss in all of FF, except for Braska's Final Aeon (I don't count Yu Yevon since there's no real way to get a game over against him.)!

It's the simple fact that he's strong. It's true that once you get his strategy down in KH, that he's easy, but remember all the times you lost to him because of his attack that kicked you to one HP and no MP?
And remember his FFVII meteor attack that would kill off almost everyone in your party with one hit (you even said you respected Zeromous for the same reason) unless they were almost fully healed?
It's the fact of his raw power and at the same time his bishonin-ness that wins over most fans hearts.

Personally, I think he's ok, but I don't worship him or anything.

Okay. Super Nova is quite strong, but did it have a draining effect like Big Bang? Hell no. It was an all out forward attack. Big Bang was both a powerful attack and had a draining side-effect. And as a villain in general, Sephiroth could only DREAM of what villains like Zeromus and Kefka could do.

My point: Sephiroth fails both as a villain and a final boss. I'm going to try to stay out of the KH section on this one, since there's no real relation to that version of him in my little rant.

Ok, draining? That's just unfair. Especially for a final boss.
It's about as fair as Sin with his instant game over attack.

Though, Sephiroth is still strong. You can't deny that. The fact that he would take out 2 of my 3 party members, all with full health at level 99, with his best attack is really saying something. Even if it doesn't drain.
Also, as a villain, he had a good backstory, he's strong, and he's bishonin. So to me he doesn't really fail. Until SE gives him a backstory in KH2. ;

Your guys must suck, no offense. My guys could all survive that attack, but at critical HP. I haven't had a single party member die against Super Nova except for the very first time I fought him (the only time I lost, too.). Sephiroth is, yes, strong, but it's only in one attack which he hardly ever uses...other than that, he really doesn't pose a major threat to me. He's a bore.

Zeromus' best attack has a draining effect, but you can steal the item that can cure the effects of the attack from Zeromus before you use the Crystal on him...but the chances of stealing it are slim. Zeromus is the only final boss I can't fight without panicking a little, even though I've beaten him 1000 times to say the least. That was kind of the source behind my disappointment when I fought Zeromus in FFIV Advance. I remember Big Bang doing about 2500-4000 damage to my whole party (Thank God Rosa's MgDef was pretty high.), and now it's been reduced to about 700-2200 damage, but now he counters any magic attack thrown at him (maybe he always did, but Rydia always died right at the beginning of battle so I wouldn't really know.).

Note: The draining wasn't rapid, but gradual, by increments of anywhere between 10-100 points per 5 seconds.

My guys are max level and do 9,999 a hit. They do NOT suck.

Even so. It gives a major disadvantage to the player. Almost unfair at that. Though, you can steal the crystal or whatever item to stop it, so I guess that makes it a little more fair.
Though, I still say that any of the Sephiroth final forms could pwn Zeromous. One Meteor spell would do it. It's what? About 7,000 points from Meteor? And Zeromous can do.....2500-4000? Aside that Sephiroth would have more HP because characters do a lot more damage in FFVII than FFIV, he would probably two shot Zeromous. Simply put, it's nice that you like Zeromous and respect him, but you don't have to say that he's better than Sephiroth. They're almost can't compared. Would be really hard to scale them up or down to match statistics. And as they are, Sephiroth can do more damage and has a lot more HP.

Honestly. The new games that come out don't offer a good challenge. And the remakes of the challenging games become child's play. Zeromus is quite powerful, and he's quite fair (since about 3/5 turns he has he does nothing). Sephiroth...he's predictable. You know exactly what he's going to do, and it only takes a battle with him to figure it out. Done correctly, you can beat Sephiroth before he gets an attack in. You can't do that with Zeromus. No way. You have to fight him the old fashioned way. It can still take me about 20 minutes to beat Zeromus. Sephiroth, if I kept my old file, I could beat in less than 5, and you could beat Sephiorth in less than 3 with your Lv 99 characters.

Note that Zeromus was geared to fight 5 party members, Sephiroth was geared to fight 3.

God stop comparing them please. Who cares how awsome 1337 pwnage this zeromus guy is and how lame sephiroth was. Im 100% sure that theres another boss in some other game elsewhere that makes zeromus look like sephiroth and sephiroth like a puppy. I do agree that sephiroth was quite easy for an end game boss. Friend of mine beat him using only "Attack" because he did 9999 each hit. (which im sure isnt a real feat or anything most people probly did so as well) I dont mean to sound like im bashing your thread, but is it really about comparing zeromus and sephiroth?
