Wow this thread got spammed to hell... well for future member reference I will post a checklist on events needed in order to recieve Cloud.

Here's a list: (These all take place in Chapter 4, You should be able to complete them all after getting Orlandu and Meiladoul in your party, though some before then.)

1. Go to Goug Machine City with Mustadio in your party and an event will occur where Bestrodio (Mustadio's father) finds a Steel Ball

2. Go to Goland Coal City and complete the "Miners Wanted!" and "Miners Wanted! 2" Jobs at the bar. Read the new rumor "Ghost Of Colliery" that appears after completing the jobs.

3. Go to Lesalia Imperial Capital. Another Event will occur. Allow Beowulf, the temple knight to join you.

4. Go back to Goland and fight through a series of 4 battles. Afterward, Beowulf and Reis, the holy dragon join your party.

5. Go back to Goug Machine City and an event will occur where the Steel Ball become the Steel Giant, Worker 8. Allow it to join your party as well.

6. Go to Zeltennia Castle and read the "Cursed Island, Nelveska" rumor at the bar.

7. Go to Zarghidas Trade City. An event will occur where Aeris (From FFVII) will try and sell you a flower, buy one from her.

8. Go back to Goug Machine City, Bestrodio will have found a strange looking machine that looks kind of like a globe.

9. Go to Nelveska Temple and Fight a battle where you have to defeat Worker 7, new. After the battle Reis will turn into a dragoner.

10. Go back to Goug and Cloud appears after the machine begins to work, he'll run away but...

11. ...if you go back to Zarghidas Trade City you will join cloud in a fight to protect Aeris from a band of thieves that were giving her some trouble, after the battle Cloud will join your party at level 1. It really isn't that hard to level him up, just have him beat on your characters (especially the ones that are level 99) in battles and he will level up real quick.


As for the other Secret Character. The summoner I suppose you are talking about must be Elidibs who resides at the bottom of the Deep Dungeon. Though he himself doesn't join your party, he does have a summon monster that you can only learn by being hit with the spell as a summoner and surviving; also a Byblos does after defeating him. A Byblos is a creature akin to the Apandas and Ultima Demons you have fought earlier in the game. In order to get the Deep Dungeon to appear you must go to Warjilis Trade City after the events that take place at Murond Holy Place in Chapter 4. An event will occur there that will unveil the location of the Deep Dungeon.

After this you should have all the characters and they only allow enough space in your party (16) for each of the special characters you receive throughout the storyline of the game. A complete List of these are as follows.
