I wonder if I'll be shot for opening such a thread...

Well, the season finale is this week. It's almost over. I'm just wondering what people think about the show in general.

When it first came out, I was one of those people who scoffed at "American-made anime". I recently got into the show last year and I've completely caught up with it in the timespan of something short of a week. Needless to say, my expectations were completely blown away. It's nice to know that there are actually some good cartoons out there -- something other than Spongebob. Avatar is one of the most interesting shows I've seen in a while, especially for something that came out in America. The animation is fluid, the story is incredible, and the characters are original and fresh.

Avatar? The last Airbender? I only saw up to where he started learning water moves, but it was entertaining, nonetheless.
As for it being an American made anime, there are plenty of those. Samurai Jack being one, that kicked a**.
