Had the idea for this a little while ago. You come in here and post a random preferably easy computer tip. Dont tell us how to overclock your computer so much it takes you to the future, keep it simple. Here ill go first. Its almost a game, but helpful at the same time.

Hold shift and left click a link to open it in a new window. Easy and quick.

Basic from Basic!
ALT + F4 to close any application your running...
ALT + SPACE to open the Window Menu of an Application (usefull when your mouse doesn't reach it)
F1 -> Help
Windows Key + L -> Switch Session


Firefox Shortcuts
CRTL + SHIFT + DELETE -> Clear Private Data
CTRL + SHIFT + T -> Open Last Closed Tab
CTRL + T -> Opens New Tab

Click with The Mouse Scroll in a Link to open in a new Window/Tab

Type anything in your address bar Example: Google. Then hold CTRL and hit enter. It will put the http://www. and .com/ on the words for you.

Hold ALT and hit tab to switch between applications you have open. While still holding ALT hit tab to cycle through the applications.

Run a virus scan at least once a week to keep viruses to a minimum.

Pressing F11 will bring an internet browser to fullscreen mode. (I think it works on all browsers. Definately works on Firefox.)

Save your work often, you never know when the computer will decide to shutdown.

Do that while holding SHIFT and you'll go to the left... without SHIFT you'll to go the right... If you have more than 10 applications opened, its useful

Take a break about every hour that you're on the computer. This will prevent eye strain and keep you from becoming a nerd like me.

Press the Windows Key + D to go to the Workspace

Try using the Opera browser if you visit the same sites daily. After you close it, it saves all of your tabs and reopens it on the same pages you were on when you close it, but refreshed.

take care of your computer, defrag your hard drive at least once a month - go to my computer, right click on your hard drive - properties - tools - defrag.

and do a checkdisk often too - same as with defrag but pick "check now" instead, check the two options you're given and click ok (takes some time to complete the operation btw)
