Could be. Heck, my computer is made out of junk, litterally. My dad took parts from other computers that didn't work anymore and jammed them together into a working computer.
Funny thing is that my computer has been running non-stop for the last.....*checks time*.....about, three months.
My friend from school got a new laptop and it melted down after two weeks, after he called my computer a piece of s*** and bragging about the size of his hard drive. I told him, "so if mine is a piece of s*** and can keep up with me, but yours can't, then what does that make yours?"

So even junk can work better than the top of the line stuff.

You have a Windows 98, and 98 is most compatible with old computers. Your PC is utterly junk, no offense dude

Actually, I got 2000 a good number of months ago. It's been running slower (more unneeded crap with the initial installation), but just as good as 98. And my computer still outlasts ANY of the 'state-of-the-art' computer with dual whatever drives.

People are ignorant now days. They want the best, so they try to go beyond their system's limit by overclocking their CPU. Resulting their product to become more raw, and break down more easily.
When you purchase a computer, you do not open the cover. Unless you know what you are doing. If you are building your own computer, you need to have much experience.
It seems like to me, that you are saying that your old trash can is way stronger, then today's hardware. Your computer is old, disgusting, terrible OS, can't even multitask on that junk.

I didn't say stronger. Though, I sure as hell can multitask on it. Normally, I have 2 or 3 firefox browser windows, 12 IM windows, trillian, and some downloading somewhere behind it all with no lag.
Yes, it's older, the only disgusting thing was the 10 year old ketchup on my last computer (still on my keyboard, and still not sure how that happened ), and the OS seems to be working just fine for me. Haven't errored down once.

But yes, my dad was a computer technician for Bally, Midway, and a lot of other large companies back then. He's destroyed entire worldwide companies, just by quitting.
That enough experience to say he can build me a good computer?
