Right so, starting off...
FFX-2. I'm sorry, I really don't see any point to that game. I mean, yeah sure I was -desperate- for some closure after FFX - who wouldn't be? It was a sad ending! (but I won't spoil it) XDD! but.. guh. It just seemed.. they made up an entire backstory to substantiate an already weak plot... not that the back story was particular -bad- or anything, they just seemed to pull it out their ass. Then filled it with meaningless side missions. Those stupid.. beacon perv camera things? I'm sorry, I got through about... half of them maybe (I was attempting a perfect ending) and just... an hour and a bit later... guh. Then wtf. Wtf.wtf. I had nothing against Yuna, but I hated her in the second game. They completely twisted the character to suit their needs. The Yuna of the first would never do some of the things in the second, including randomly -stripping off- in the middle of the cold winter climate, and jump into a hot spring. It was so random, especially since they were on a mission, and seemed to just be.. something to attract the fanboys. Honestly... Lastly, about FFX-2, while Yuna and Rikku were bad enough - Paine was just a shameless stereotype. Honestly, they though 'hey, we need to balance out these characters... let's add someone serious!' and they -did-. Paine was so shallow, barely -any- backstory... nothing. Nothing to her but what us gamers saw... honestly, the only good thing to come out of FFX-2 was 1000 Words. It.. was good song. XD;;; ... /end. I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of it right now. .___. ![]()

FFXII
W. t. f. I thought, hey, y'know, maybe Square Enix finally got something right. I thought, maybe, they'd tried to get back to their roots. Maybe they'd chucked another FFVII, and it wasn't that hard to believe it with the hype surrounding the release of the new game. Then... the game actually came out.. and oh. -joy-. Honestly, I didn't really mind it at first. I was a bit thrown by the battle system.. (that was.. so.. sad. that it was so different... it used to be their -thing-, and gambits are such a friggen cop out...) but y'know, it was okay. Then, the plot unravelled and... god. It was ... so... ... not creative. They didn't just decided to go back to their roots. They decided to go back to a -generic- storyline. Hell, it even had Ashe... Which wasn't so bad, until they decided to use the whole 'get the mystical item to win!' quests... which are just -so- overused, they absolutely.. guh. It's just... such a ***** to deal with. Get the Dawn Shard! Get the Sword of Kings! Yeah okay.. can we do something more interesting now? >.o Not even talking about the storyline, the game mechanics themselves are so annoying. The graphics isn't even worth the loading time it takes between scenes. I think that if they were going to jump up that quickly, they should've just changed to the PS3 earlier... well maybe not, because I can't afford a PS3 yet.. but still. XDD The other thing I found annoying about the game, is Vaan himself. They've taken bits of other characters and joined them together in a slapdash mockery of a main. He's just not.. not.. gyar. He's not interesting, or funny, or particularly quirky. He doesn't have the subtle kind of... power of Squall or Cloud's ... well, Cloud's Cloudness. (although, at least he doesn't whine all the time, like certain other characters I won't mention...) he's just.. there... And I would've thought they'd play up on the brother storyline more, because I find that the most interesting aspect - an angle they haven't really covered yet.... but.. no such luck. Then finally, the last two things about this game. The lack of main villian. I'm not... it's just.. guh. When it's something as generalised as that, it helps to have a focus. Just someone to... define the Imperial side of things. But with the constant shift of power, the confusion between friend and foe, and sometimes the blatant appeal of said empire.. there's none of that element. There's.. nothing to make it particularly fun or easy to play against. It's just... something that's there, but... hrn. It has too much of a changing nature - it's fun to just -hate- a character... like Ultimecia. Even when it was Edea, Ultimecia was a different entity - someone to focus on. Sephiroth goes without saying.... and Sin was just Sin. But... Lastly, they've missed the most important element of Final Fantasy. I don't know about you, but the thing that drew me to VII most, besides the characters.... was the -humour-. I found myself laughing out loud -all the time-. Less in VIII and sometimes in X.. but this game was just completely lacking. Nothing funny about it, not even with the rogueish good looks and wit of Balthier thrown into the equation... it's just.. so dry. The good thing about this game? I've yet to discover it. ![]() P.S Valkyrie. Enough said. Wtf. XD

I totally agree with you on X-2, though I didn't think XII was that bad. And when I think about, you have to admit, it's better than FFX-2.
The shift of power never really confused me, though I was never truly clear as to what side Vayne's father was on. The battle system can be annoying, since a boss can completely change its strategy and make you go "Alright, your old Gambit setup won't beat me now, enjoy another 5 minutes of customizing Gambits and hoping that it'll work and you won't have to spend another 5 minutes retweaking again." Another annoying aspect: Yizmat. WTF is up with 65 million HP with a 9999 damage cap!? I've heard that the boss fight with it can take up about 6+ hours...@_@ Vaan did seem kind of uselsess in the game though. As for humor, I was never 100% aware that FF had humor except in 7, and that was sometimes in ill taste. Don't get me wrong though, RPG can be good wihtout humor, unless it's a Tales game, then it's kind of a must-have.
