Well, more or less.
Some of the cards aren't realy that great compared to some of the combos you can pull off today, but there are a few that are still insane. Like Day of the Dragons. The effect is: When Day of the Dragons comes into play, remove all creatures you control from the game. Then put that many 5/5 red Dragon creature tokens with flying into play. When Day of the Dragons leaves play, sacrifice all Dragons you control. Then return the removed cards to play under your control.
So basically if I have 10,000 elf tokens, then play that, they all become 5/5 flying dragons, and even if the card is destroyed, I still get all 10,000 of my creatures back.
