Yup, I went to my first tournament on Friday.
It was a type 2 where you get a tournament pack and two boosters and build a deck from that, on the spot.
First pairings I was against Joey, our best player. I got him first game, but he took me down the second and third games, so he won the match.
Second match I was against some panzy guy that had only learned the game about a week ago. The sad thing is that he says some mean sh*t, so it was pretty fun to beat him. And the best part of it, was that in both of our games (I won both) he only blocked ONE of my attacks. All the others he let through, even when he had a 0/3 and I had a 1/1 out.
Third match, I was against a casino dealer. He wasn't really that fun to play, but I won 2 outta 3.
After that, I made it into the top 8.
Next match was against, ironically, Joey. It was an exact repeat of the first match, where I beat his a** into the ground on one game and he took me down the other two.
After that, I was out.
Sad thing is, that Joey beat me, only to lose in the finals to a guy he lost to in the finals the last three tournaments in a row (this was his first one in years).
