Fight monsters, level up, get better weapons and armor, and generally become the strongest in the forum. When you get to a high enough level, you can challange other players to a battle in the battle arena.

You help out other clan members. Like, if someone in the RPG beats you to a pulp, one of the higher level members in your clan can beat them into a pulp for you.
Probably not the best well put, but yeah. You support each other, help each other get new weapons, armor, spells, and other such things.
