Default Global Warming, our advantage?

I saw this commercial for a firetruck boat (the one that puts out fires in towns like Venace). Then I thought, "man that's really effective. They can just pump the water out of the stream like that and it won't waste any drinking water."
Then I thought, "why don't we do this in all towns? It would severely cut down the amount of gas we use up since we could just travel along the rivers, and we can use those same streams for hydroelectricity."
Then I asked myself, "wait, how would we be able to flood EVERY city in the world?" Hm. Tough one, eh? Then I figured out that since global warming is causing the polar ice caps to melt, we can use the water that is flooding the Earth and simply channel it to do as I mentioned, since it's going to happen inevitably anyways.
With this much water, we could easily figure out the corrents and magnetismic patterns of the Earth and use those to have the streams naturally occur, just as they did with the gate at the Panama Canal.

What do you guys think?
